SEO Tips For Businesses
SEO, Search Engine Optimization, is a term that describes the different methods that can be used to get you better placement for your website on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and others.
More and more, consumers search the Internet to find the businesses they want to buy from, and they rarely venture past page 1 of the results they find. Since this is the case, you want to make sure you are making the most of your SEO efforts to insure these people can find you. The following SEO tips, while not all encompassing, can prove to be helpful.
Keywords – Do extensive research as to what keywords people are searching the most that relate to your products and services and use them everywhere. Complete your onsite SEO, including tagging images and videos with these keywords use them in your blog posts, press releases and video blasts.
Link the “right way”! When SEO started, as long as you were building backlinks, your website gained strength. That is no longer the case. Google, Yahoo, and Bing search engines want to make sure you are using quality backlinks from high-ranking sites to build up your rank. If you are linked to high authority sites, you are seen as being more credible to the search engines, which in turn will work in your favor.
Inactivity and SEO don’t mix. A lot of people think once you achieve a good SEO ranking, you have it made! Wrong!! You need to constantly be keeping up and applying new SEO strategies to keep up with all the changes search engines throw your way. New content needs to be continually churned on directories, blogs and video channels. Also remember, your competition is doing everything they can to knock you out of those top spots.
Test and track SEO. The best way to check SEO results is to keep track of your ranking periodically to make sure you are moving in the right direction. Even thought it takes time, you should see forward movement, or something is missing. Keep in mind search engines use proprietary algorithms to determine ranking and they protect them very carefully, so time is not necessarily a bad thing but you should be able to see some progress.
