4 Facebook posts you should be doing right now to grow your audience

Facebook - Fusion One Marketing

Sometimes the biggest barrier to filling your Facebook newsfeed with relevant content is knowing what kind of content to post. Just the task of content generation can send people into a spiral of procrastination — or worse, complete neglect.

After taking a good look at some of the best companies out there who are posting on a regular basis, we curated post types into four big buckets that have the power to create high engagement. Of course, there is a long list of other post types out there, but if you’re just getting started with Facebook for your business, then stick to these four post types to get the ball rolling.

Testimonials / Reviews

Think of testimonials as your social credibility. They show potential customers that you offer a valuable product or service. Think about it — when was the last time you checked out the latest reviews on a cool new restaurant to see if it was worthy of a Friday night out? According to recent statistics, 90% of consumers read online reviews, and 88% of them trust online reviews when considering a business.

If you’re not posting strong testimonies on your Facebook page, then there’s a chance you could be missing out on valuable business. Posting reviews also gives a nice nod to your consumer, letting them know that you hear them and you appreciate their feedback.

Let your customers be your greatest advertisers and use their words to promote your business! Great places for curating testimonials and reviews are Yelp, Facebook, Foursquare four and — probably the most overlooked place — asking your customers directly for reviews!

Offers

So you just came out with a new deal, or maybe you discounted a popular item — post it! If you have a product or service, and it’s at a discounted price compared to your competitors, then let your audience know about it. Here is a great example from Fabletics, a fitness brand that frequently uses Facebook to promote special deals and offers:

When posting any kind of offer, it’s important to always create a strong call to action. Notice in the example above, they open their text with “Your chance is almost over,” thus creating a strong sense of urgency. Also, it’s important to always Include a link where viewers can locate the offer.

Personal

Strong content marketing is all about creating a connection between your brand and your consumer. This means placing a strong emphasis on showing content that your audience values. Before people buy your product, they want to have a sense of what you’re all about. Posting personal content is a great way to establish this type of connection.

What do these posts look like? They can be consumer spotlights, posting inspirational quotes or even taking a moment to simply update your audience on what projects you’ve been working on, and how excited you are to bring them something new.

Videos

Videos have quickly claimed their spot at the top when it comes to capturing viewer attention on social media. Recent studies show that including video on a landing page can increase conversion rates by 80%, and 92% of mobile video consumers share videos with others (statistic provided by Hubspot Marketing). And while most marketers understand the need for video content, creating videos can seem daunting.

The good news is that Facebook has become increasingly more friendly for video creation — specifically, since they’ve debuted Facebook Live, Facebook has taken videos to an entirely new level. By going live, you allow your audience to get to know your business in real time. Any business can use this strategy to their advantage. If you sell a product, then go live with a product demo. If you offer a specific service, go live with that service. If your product is intangible, go live with a consumer review!

Now that you have these four post types in your pocket, you can hit the ground running and fill your Facebook page with valuable content that your consumers care about.
